Description
Elmar Kits’s work “Decorative” presents an abstract-decorative composition of interwoven organic forms and color patches. The palette is built on a combination of rich warm and cool tones — ochre, emerald, blue, and red — flowing into one another through the wet-on-wet watercolor technique. The forms suggest stylized plant motifs or fragments of ornamentation but do not coalesce into a concrete representational image, remaining on the boundary between decoration and abstraction. The lightness and transparency of the watercolor contrasts with the dense, rhythmically saturated composition, characteristic of Kits’s decorative experiments. The work demonstrates the artist’s freedom and mastery in handling color and form beyond the confines of figurative painting.
