Tõnis Vint is a key figure of the Estonian neo-avant-garde — an artist, graphic designer, and cultural innovator. As the founder of the legendary group “ANK’64,” he introduced into Estonian art the influences of Eastern philosophy, minimalism, and geometric abstraction. His works are exquisitely austere, meditative, and imbued with sacred geometry.

Through clean lines, balanced compositions, and a limited but carefully chosen palette, Vint creates images that function almost as visual mantras — vehicles for contemplation and spiritual experience.

Vint was deeply immersed in the study of Zen Buddhism, Tibetan art, and Eastern philosophy as early as the 1960s — an extraordinary undertaking for a Soviet-era artist and one that made him a genuine cultural bridge between East and West.
